EHR Specialist - Project Consultant
Position Summary:
American Vascular has a need for an Electronic Health Record (EHR) Specialist for a 6 month contract. This position will be responsible for the management, optimization, and support of the eClinicalWorks EHR and other EHR systems across the organization. This role ensures the integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness of the EHR platform and plays a lead role in the planning and execution of new EHR implementations and upgrades. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in eCW and other EHR systems with strong project management skills to drive system performance, user adoption, and clinical workflow improvements. This is a remote position with little to no travel expected.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration & Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for eClinicalWorks EHR.
- Provide day-to-day support for EHR users, including troubleshooting issues, managing tickets, and liaising with eCW support as needed.
- In conjunction with the AVA Project manager, complete system configuration, user access, template creation/modifications, and develop forms.
Project Management
- Execution, and delivery of new eCW implementations or upgrades in conjunction with AVA Project Manager.
- Adhere to project plans, timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies in conjunction with AVA Project Manager.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including clinical, operational, and IT staff to ensure successful deployments.
- Document project progress, decisions, and lessons learned.
Training & User Engagement
- Develop and deliver training materials, manuals, and documentation tailored to clinical and administrative users.
- Conduct initial onboarding and ongoing training sessions for new users.
- Identify workflow gaps or inefficiencies and collaborate with departments to design EHR-based solutions.
- Promote best practices and standardization in EHR use across departments.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 3+ years of experience working with eClinicalWorks in an administrator and/or development role.
- Proven experience managing EHR projects from initiation to completion.
- Strong knowledge of clinical workflows and healthcare data privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- eClinicalWorks Certification (Preferred but not required).
- Experience in ambulatory or multi-site healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with data analytics, SQL queries, and interface engines.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid or on-site depending on organizational needs.
- May require occasional travel for go-lives, training, or on-site support.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive rate based on exp & skill-set, with an hourly range from $55 to $65 an hour.
