Sedation Nurse, Outpatient Center
Surgical Associates Chartered is looking to add to our team! We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sedation Nurse to join our outpatient vascular center in Camp Springs, MD. This role is integral in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of sedation to patients undergoing various procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing, with specific experience in sedation and patient care management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer sedation under the direction of the physician and monitor patients' vital signs throughout procedures.
- Assess patients' medical histories, allergies, and specific needs to create an individualized sedation care plan.
- Prepare and maintain medical equipment and verify proper function before procedures.
- Educate patients and families on the sedation process, potential side effects, and post-procedure care.
- Respond rapidly to emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of sedation procedures and patient responses.
- Participate in continuous education and training sessions to stay current with best practices and medical guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), preferred.
- Prior experience in a sedation role or similar environment highly desirable.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
